Cut from the same cellulose-acetate blocks Mazzucchelli has poured since 1849. Every Soletti frame is sliced and shaped by hand, then tumbled for seventy-two hours. The polish is what acetate does when it is left alone long enough.

The Mozart is the daytime frame. Round, scholarly, the lens tinted to the colour of an espresso held against the morning. I drew it for a Milanese breakfast on a Sunday — the kind of frame a woman wears at the head of the table before anyone has noticed.
Fifty at the lens, twenty-one at the bridge, the most generous bridge in the house because a round frame slides if the bridge is wrong. The acetate is poured in eight colorways — every one a different mood of the same Sunday morning. The marble whites are unusual; we cut very few.
We paired it with the Day-Date 40 in rose gold with an ombré slate dial because both pieces share a single gentleness. They are made for the woman who reads everything carefully before deciding.
